This illustration imagines the feeling of being gently blanketed and nurtured by the natural world—a dreamlike reflection on the invisible networks that sustain life around us. Inspired by an article in The Oregonian about the world’s largest living connected organism, the piece explores how nature itself embodies connection, growth, and shelter. Rooted in my Oregon upbringing and lifelong fascination with place, it captures the comfort of being held by something vast, living, and deeply familiar.
